Wuchang Central Peasant Movement Workshop is located at No. 13 Hongxiang, Wuchang. It was the first time that the Kuomintang and the Communist Party cooperated. Under the leadership and promotion of the Communist Party of China, it was a school jointly founded by the two parties to train cadres of the peasant movement.
After the Northern Expeditionary Army conquered Wuhan, the peasant movements in Hunan, Hubei and Jiangxi developed rapidly, and a large number of talents engaged in peasant movements were urgently needed. In order to meet this need, Comrade Mao Zedong, then Secretary of the Peasant Movement Committee of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, proposed to set up an agricultural seminar in Wuchang in November 1926.
In December, Comrade Mao Zedong arrived in Wuhan from Shanghai as a member of the Peasant Movement Committee of the Kuomintang Central Committee, and discussed matters with the Kuomintang Party headquarters in Hunan, Hubei and Jiangxi provinces. According to the decision of the Kuomintang Central Committee, the Agricultural Seminar was eventually named the "Kuomintang Central Peasant Movement Seminar", with Deng Yanda, Mao Zedong and Chen Kewen as its standing members and four months of schooling system.
In March 1927, under the auspices of Comrade Mao Zedong in Wuchang, a large number of outstanding cadres were trained for the revolution. It was originally a North Road School held by Zhang Zhidong, Governor of Huguang in the late Qing Dynasty, and then changed to Hubei A Business School and Hubei Higher Business School, covering an area of about 11,000 square meters, with a building area of 6,350 square meters.
On March 7, 1927, the agricultural lecture was officially taught. The students came from 17 provinces, totaling more than 800 people. Yun Daiying, Qu Qiubai, Peng Mei, Fang Zhimin, Li Hanjun and Li Da taught the main courses respectively. Comrade Mao Zedong personally taught the main courses of "Peasant Issues" and "Rural Education", and made a special report on the famous "Investigation Report of Hunan Peasant Movement".
The agricultural seminars also offer military courses, and the students also participate in the actual revolutionary struggle.
