According to reports, 7Nm is by far the leading commercial semiconductor manufacturing process in the industry. Before that, only Huawei Kirin 980, Qualcomm Kyolong 855 and Apple A12 were used as AI chips in the industry's flagship mobile phone. Kirin 810 uses all-new China as NPU for Da Vinci. This is the first time that Huawei has formally introduced the self-developed Da Vinci architecture into the NPU of mobile AI chips.
The first mobile phone nova5 series released on the same day includes two models, nova5 and nova5 Pro. The nova5 uses Kirin 810 chip, while the nova5 Pro carries Kirin 980. The Kirin 810 on Huawei Noa5 is Huawei's second and third 7-nm mobile phone SoC chip. Compared with the 8-nm process, the energy efficiency and transistor density are increased by 20% and 50%.
According to reports, Huawei's nova5 series is equipped with a 32-megapixel front-end ultra-high definition camera, which can capture a clearer picture and the details of hair texture accurately. The rear 48 million AI quadruple camera covers ultra-high definition, ultra-wide angle, micro-range and depth-of-field virtual full-scene lenses.
Nova5 series also ushered in the upgraded beauty algorithm, which can provide customized beauty effects that vary from person to person, saying goodbye to the same beauty effects.
He Gang, president of Huawei's consumer mobile phone product line, said that the formal launch of Huawei Kirin 810 chips showed that Huawei had two SoC chips with 7-nm process. At the meeting, Huawei announced that its annual global shipment of mobile phones had exceeded 100 million units by May 30.
